Amazon triples its profits

Amazon's profitability seems to have no limit. The e-commerce giant published its profits of January to March 2021: 8.1 billion dollars. This is more than three times the 2.5 billion they made in the same period in 2020. No wonder Jeff Bezos is number one on the list of the world's richest people.

Tesla wins but not by car sales

Tesla also made a considerable profit in the first quarter of 2021: 438 million dollars, which came not so much from an increase in car sales (the pandemic does not favour this part of the business) but from other investments and, in particular, from Elon Musk's bet on bitcoin. In any case, this figure represents a 74% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2020.
