Who is Stefanie Sun?

Stephanie Sun's 2000s hits made her a C-pop icon. She is famous for her Mandarin and Hokkien Chinese songs. She is one of Singapore's most famous Chinese musicians, along with JJ Lin and Kit Chan.

Early life

Stefanie Sun was born in Singapore on July 23, 1978, to a university professor and vocational school lecturer. Sina stated that her father inspired her to pursue music. She has two other sisters.

Learning from young

According to the same Sina report, Stefanie Sun not only dabbled in music at the age of five by playing the piano, but she was also a talented performer as a child, having sung on stage at the tender age of ten and earning the British Royal Amateur Grade 8 Piano Diploma.

According to Stefanie Sun's National Library Board biography, she enrolled in the Lee Wei Song School of Music before attending university, where she caught the attention of the school's founders, Paul Lee Wei Song and Peter Lee Si Song, both Chinese music industry elites.

Stefanie Sun's talent took her far, according to the Straits Times, and she also caught the attention of the visiting chairman of Warner Music Taiwan while attending the Lee Wei Song School of Music.

The same report from The Straits Times noted that Warner Music Taiwan then offered Stefanie Sun a debut opportunity, but it was put on hold until she finished university as her father wanted her to finish up with her studies before embarking on her music career.
