Will Chris Eubank Jr now challenge for a world title fight?

Chris Eubank Jr. silenced his doubters on Saturday night, putting on a boxing clinic as he beat Liam Smith in the tenth round of their highly anticipated rematch.

Liam Smith beat Eubank Jr via fourth-round stoppage in January, but the British boxer showed his threat to all the big boys in the middleweight division.

Eubank Jr threw a staggering 448 more punches than Smith, according to ESPN, showcasing his elite boxing ability under the deepest pressure.

If Smith had won the fight, he would have been the first name to fight Janibek Alimkhanuly for the WBO middleweight title, but is it Eubank's turn?

Eubank is ranked number five in the WBC's latest rankings, so a world title fight may not be next, but he did call out some big names for some huge fights.

Speaking after the fight, Eubank Jr. said: "I'm coming for you Conor [Benn], I'm coming for you Kell [Brook] anyone who wants it," Eubank said after the fight." I want to fight GGG [Gennadiy Golovkin], let's get it on."

"There are too many big fights out there. I had to beat Liam. Liam is a warrior. He put it all on the line. He didn't give up. Now we are on to some bigger and better fights."

The fight the world wants to see is Eubank Jr. versus Conor Benn, a long-anticipated bout between the sons of two legends who fought each other in the 90s.

A grudge match between the pair was scheduled for last year, but on the week of the fight, the bout was canceled due to Benn failing two drug tests.

Benn's career is in turmoil, with doubt surrounding him that he may not be eligible to fight in the UK again. A Eubank versus Benn fight would have to be in Britain, with their dads having blockbuster fights in Britain.

As for Gennadiy Golovkin, Eubank Jr. has been on his radar for some time, calling him out on several occasions and even once agreeing to a fight with the former champion.

'Triple G's' glory days are now behind him, being 41 and last fighting Canelo Alvarez in a loss nearly a year ago. It wouldn't make for a blockbuster like a fight with Benn would.

Sheffield boxer Kell Brook was in the arena for the Smith, Eubank Jr rematch, and like Golovkin, Brook's glory days are behind him, being 37 and in retirement.

Brook is the former IBF welterweight world champion, but for Eubank, a fight with Brook should be low on his priority list if he is to challenge for a world title.

A deciding fight with Liam Smith could be on the cards in the near future, but at 35, Smith may consider hanging his gloves up after Saturday's defeat.

Whatever fight he takes next, his performance on Saturday will give Eubank Jr the confidence that, in the near future, he will be fighting for a world title.
