Kyle Walker and Manchester City became the first English team since Manchester United in 1999 to win the European Treble.

Close game

City ran out 1-0 winners against Inter Milan, securing the club's first Champions League trophy and Walker's 14th major trophy of his career.

Starting on the bench

After superb displays against Vinicius Jr in the semis against Real Madrid, Walker wasn't awarded a start in the final. Despite that, he did come on in the second half, shoring up the defense and keeping Inter Milan at bay.

Not all sunshine

For Walker, winning the Champions League with City was the final piece of the puzzle in making his dreams come true. However, it hasn't always been sunshine and rainbows.

'Didn't have a pound'

Following the treble success, Walker spoke to BT Sport, saying: "I remember when my mum didn't have a pound for the ice cream van."

Growing up in Sheffield

Kyle Walker grew up on the Lansdowne Estate in Sharrow, Yorkshire, in which he endured an upbringing that only the strong-hearted could face.

'You had to survive'

According to mirror.co.uk, Walker said: "Maybe it is my upbringing, where I grew up, you had to survive. If I look back on it now, I think that was actually quite bad."

Things a child shouldn't see

Growing up on Lansdowne Estate, Walker witnessed a fire on his estate and even saw someone who had taken their own life on the stairs on his landing.

'Petrol through the door'

According to mirror.co.uk, Walker explained: "Someone put petrol through the door at a neighbor's house, chucked a match in, and that was it. The kids got out, and the mum threw them out, but she couldn't get out."

Shaping his life

Through adversity, Walker has become one of the greatest fullbacks of his generation, starting at Sheffield United, thriving at Tottenham, and winning everything at Manchester City.

Most expensive fullback

Walker failed to win at Tottenham and decided he wanted a new challenge, joining Man City for £50 million in 2017, becoming the world's most expensive full-back.

Winner

In six years at City, Walker has won the Premier League five times, the FA Cup twice, the League Cup four times, and now the Champions League.

Individual accolades

Walker was awarded the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 2012 and has been inducted into the PFA Team of the Year on three occasions.

'Path written out'

According to mirror.co.uk, "I think your path is written out for you to experience certain things in life, and I've had to go through certain setbacks, certain doubts and highs as well, which I have achieved at Manchester City."

A leader

Walker has been a powerful force at right back in the latter stages of the 2022/23 season, playing consecutively in helping beat Arsenal to the league, keeping key players at bay in the Champions League, and providing experience in the FA Cup final victory.

'My dream has come true'

According to yahoo.com, Walker said: "My dream has come true, to achieve this with this club. To achieve a treble is unbelievable."
