Real Madrid win the Champions League again

Real Madrid have won another Champions League, the fifteenth in the club's history. With the action over, UEFA has announced its 2023/24 Champions League Team of the Season, dominated by Real Madrid and runners-up Borussia Dortmund.

Gregor Kobel

Between the posts, we find Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. The Swiss made some good saves in the final and semi-finals against PSG, but could not prevent his team's defeat against Los Blancos.

Dani Carvajal

In the right-back position, we find Real Madrid legend Dani Carvajal, who won his record sixth Champions League title, according to Transfermarkt.

Antonio Rüdiger

Antonio Rüdiger, one of the strongest defenders in the world, scored the last penalty against Manchester City in the quarter-finals and also stood out in the final.

Mats Hummels

Rüdiger is paired with the experienced Mats Hummels, who is still chasing his first Champions League win.

Ian Maatsen

At just 22, Ian Maatsen has a great future ahead of him, as he showed during his excellent Champions League campaign. However, he played an unfortunate role in Real Madrid's second goal, giving the ball away too easily to Jude Bellingham.

Marcel Sabitzer

With five assists and one goal, per Transfermarkt, Marcel Sabitzer played a key role in Dortmund's successful Champions League run. The Austrian midfielder tested Thibaut Courtois in the final, but was unable to score.

Vitinha

PSG's Vitinha shone against FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals and proved to be the playmaker the French were looking for.

Jude Bellingham

What more is there to say about Jude Bellingham? The Englishman oozes class, scoring four goals in Real Madrid's winning Champions League campaign, according to Transfermarkt. Despite playing rather anonymously in the final, he still provided the assist for Vinicius Junior's goal.

Phil Foden

The same can be said of his compatriot Phil Foden, scorer of a stunning goal at the Santiago Bernabeu and five goals in the Champions League 2023/24.

Harry Kane

Harry Kane, the third Englishman in the Champions League Team of the Season, will have to wait another year to win a trophy with Bayern Munich, despite scoring eight goals in Europe's top competition, according to Transfermarkt.

Vinicius Junior

Vinicius Junior sealed Real Madrid's victory against Dortmund, and also scored a brace against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. With that, the Brazilian more than deserves his place on this list.
