Golfing influencer Paige Spiranac has made her feelings clear after Europe demolished the USA in the Ryder Cup.

Heavy defeat

The USA lost 11½-16½ at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. Spiranac, from Colorado, was supporting Team USA.

In tears

Spiranac shared a photo of herself from a press conference in which she appears to be in tears with the caption, “Me waking up and looking at the Ryder Cup score”.

Outspoken

Spiranac had been outspoken throughout the competition, saying, “I know Rickie is a nice guy but you don’t concede that putt,” after Rickie Fowler had given Tommy Fleetwood a ‘gimme’ from four feet out to give Europe the victory.

Offered support

Spiranac was offered sympathy and support from her legion of online fans, with one replying to her post on X saying, “Don't worry Paige, I'm sure your guys are gonna bounce back soon.”

Cantlay controversy

There were controversies throughout the Ryder Cup, including Patrick Cantley not wearing a cap whilst player, supposedly in protest of not being paid to play in the premier match-play competition in golf. Cantley refuted this accusation, claiming the hats didn’t fit him so he chose not to wear one.

Spiranac weighs in

Spiranac was quick to comment once again as she posted, “Really goes against the whole we play for pride and not money LIV narrative lol.” on X.

Defending Cantlay’s caddie

Patrick Cantlay was at the center of another controversy as his caddie, Joe LaCava, and Rory McIlroy were seen arguing on the green with the Northern Irishman accusing LaCava of stepping across his putting line whilst celebrating Cantlay’s putt. Spiranac once again offered her opinion.

“Undervalued”

The golf influencer posted, “Caddies take a lot of s**t and their jobs are undervalued. Joe LaCava’s one of the best around. Cantlay was put through the wringer for the entire round so I don’t blame Joe for being passionate about his player/job.”
