How have Red Bull been so dominant in Formula One this year?

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez finished one and two again for the fourth time in five races as Red Bull dominated the Miami Grand Prix last weekend.

Verstappen won the race, gaining 25 points, while Perez produced 18 points after finishing second. The latest results mean Verstappen leads the way with 119 points, Perez in second with 105, and Fernando Alonso is third with 75 points.

No other team has stepped foot on top of the podium in this F1 season, with Verstappen winning three races, Perez winning two, and the Baku sprint.

After a 26-second distance between Perez and Alonso in Miami last week, it has been clear to all drivers that the Red Bull RB19 is head and shoulders above the rest.

The margin of victory between the RB19 and the rest of the pack is something never seen before in racing. As well as the 26 seconds in Miami, it was 38 seconds in Bahrain, 20 seconds in Saudi Arabia, and 21 seconds in Baku.

According to independent.co.uk, seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton said: "I have never seen a car so fast. When we [Mercedes] were fast, we were not that fast. It is the fastest car I have seen."

Let's look at the features that make the RB19 much faster than every other Formula One car!

The Red Bull RB19 possesses the Honda Power Unit engine, which has proven to be the fastest on the grid, recording the top two speeds in Baku and Bahrain.

The Honda Power Unit was once the laughingstock in Formula One, but after improvements in its efficiency and reliability, Red Bull has been the quickest by a country mile.

Without a lightweight chassis, the Red Bull car wouldn't produce as much speed as it does, upgrading to a much lighter chassis from the RB18 to the RB19.

A weakness in the RB18 car from last year was that it operated nearly 10kg above the weight limit. Despite that, the RB19 now functions around the 798kg limit, making it faster and easier to navigate around corners.

The RB19's downforce is 20 times more powerful than what is generated by surfaces on top of the car, giving it more effective downforce across speed ranges.

Red Bull's Drag Reduction System has been the most evident advantage in this season's Formula One championship, producing around two-tenths of a second per lap over the field.

The curved tunnel roof, the extreme anti-dive front, and the anti-squat rear suspensions are three improved features on the RB19 that all work to make a faster, more aerodynamic, and unbeatable car.

Red Bull has dismantled the field in the opening six races, but there are still 17 to go, with the next race happening in Italy on the 21^st of May.
