Canadian ex-Olympic figure skater Alexandra Paul has died in a horrific car accident, Sky News reports.

Hit by a lorry

Canadian police stated that Paul's car and five other vehicles were hit by a lorry when waiting in a line in Melancthon Township, Ontario.

Declared dead

At just 31, Paul was declared dead after the accident.

The baby survived

Paul's baby Charles, who was present in the car at the time, survived the accident and was later treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local children's hospital.
