Erling Haaland mobbed by world champion pitch invader

It was business as usual for Erling Haaland on Sunday afternoon, scoring his third goal of the season against Sheffield United.

Haaland did miss a penalty before his eventual goal, but he and Rodri's 88th-minute strike were enough to see Manchester City walk out as 2-1 victors.

During the celebration of Haaland's goal, the Norwegian striker was met by a pitch invader who seemed happier than anyone that Haaland had broken the deadlock.

What Haaland didn't know was that the man who jumped on his back was a former boxing world champion, Terry Flanagan.

Flanagan is a retired British fighter who held the WBO lightweight title between 2015 and 2017 and is known for his love of Manchester City.

Flanagan was a dominant lightweight boxer, losing just two fights through 38 bouts, with 14 being by knockout.

The British boxer successfully defended his WBO belt on five occasions before vacating it to move up to light welterweight.

Some people believe Flanagan didn't celebrate his world title defenses with as much enthusiasm as he did for Haaland's goal.

Flanagan, who last fought in 2019, unsuccessfully challenged for world honors in the super-lightweight division.

His outrageous actions on Sunday will come with a stadium ban of some sort, but for Flanagan, it will be something he will remember forever.
