Chamberlain’s unbreakable record

As the NBA has become more expansive and offense heavy, no one has come close to breaking Wilt Chamberlain's 100 points in 1962.

Top scoring nights

Here are the best single-game scoring nights from the 2022-2023 NBA season.

Anthony Davis (55 points) – December 4, 2022

Anthony Davis has been the catalyst for the Los Angeles Lakers' revival since the trade deadline in February. Still, his 55 points over the Washington Wizards was his biggest scoring outpour of the season.

Fifth 50th

His 55 against the Wizards was the fifth 50+ point game of his career and helped the Lakers take a decisive 130-119 victory.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (55 points) – January 3, 2023

MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a career-high 55 points in a victory over the Washington Wizards at the start of 2023.

Mr consistent

His 55 points in January has been a trademark of the 'Greek Freak' all season, who has averaged 31.1 points per game for the entire year.

Julius Randle (57 points) – March 20, 2023

Julius Randle had Carmelo Anthony's Madison Square Garden record of 62 points in his sight when he had 51 after three quarters against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He finished the game five shy, with 57 points.

Devin Booker (58 points) – December 17, 2022

Despite the fact it wasn't 70 points in a single game, which he achieved as a rookie in 2017, Devin Booker dropped 58 points in a comeback win against the New Orleans Pelicans. He became the youngest player to achieve five 50-point games in that game.

Joel Embiid (59 points) – November 13, 2022

MVP front-runner and NBA scoring champion Joel Embiid scored a career-high 59 points, leading his Philadelphia 76ers team to a 105-98 win over the Utah Jazz in November last year.

Luka Doncic (60 points) – December 27, 2022

The first player to break the 60-point mark in the 2022-23 NBA season was Dallas star Luka Doncic, burying 60 points in a 126-121 victory over the New York Knicks.

No playoffs

Despite some exceptional performances and the 60 points against the Knicks, Doncic and teammate Kyrie Irving have failed to bring playoff basketball to Dallas this year.

Damian Lillard (60 points) – January 25, 2023

Lillard has had several high-scoring games this season, but the first game he broke 60 was in a win over the Utah Jazz in January.

Marksman

Lillard showed his class as a deadly shooter, scoring 21 of 29 field goals, nine of 15 three-pointers, and nine of ten free throws.

Donovan Mitchell (71 points) January 2, 2023

Donovan Mitchell created history when the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Chicago Bulls at the start of the year, dropping 71 points in the overtime win.

Following in Kobe’s footsteps.

Mitchell's 71 points were the most since Kobe Bryant's iconic 81-point game against the Toronto Raptors in January 2006.

Damian Lillard (71 points) – February 27, 2023

Damian Lillard became the oldest player in NBA history to have a 70-point game in a victory over the Houston Rockets in February.

Eighth player

Lillard became the eighth player to score 70 points or more in an NBA game, and it was his second game scoring 60 or more in the year.
