KSI steps into the ring again! A look at his boxing journey
British internet sensation KSI returns to the ring this weekend as he continues his boxing journey with a fight against undefeated professional boxer Joe Fournier.
Fournier called out Logan Paul, Jake Paul, and KSI for not fighting 'real boxers,' and after KSI defeated Faze Temperrr in January, Fournier faced off with KSI, calling for a fight in May.
Joe Fournier will be the toughest opponent yet for KSI, having nine fights, nine wins, and nine knockouts. He's also stepped in the ring with former heavyweight world champion, David Haye in an exhibition match in September 2021.
Fournier has fought just once since 2016 but boasts a dubious reign as the WBA international champion at light-heavyweight, which saw him rank in the top 15 in the world.
According to mirror.co.uk, KSI said: "I want someone who can fight back, really put me in the deep end and knows boxing skill and has boxing experience."
Once he has fought Fournier this weekend, the British YouTube star has his sights set on fighting Tommy Fury, who defeated Jake Paul earlier this year.
According to mirror.co.uk, KSI stated: "So I'm like, yeah, this is a challenge. Then after that, Tommy Fury. Everyone sees him as a guy that's going to destroy me. I have no chance. I love that."
Let's look at KSI's previous bouts as he continues his journey in the sport of boxing!
KSI's journey with boxing started at the end of 2017, agreeing to fight fellow British YouTuber Joe Weller in an amateur bout, attempting to settle a feud between the pair that began online.
KSI won the fight one minute and 37 seconds into the third round by way of technical knockout before calling out American internet sensation and his current business partner, Logan Paul.
On the 24th of February 2018, it was announced KSI would fight Logan Paul in an amateur white-collar boxing match. The fight ended in a majority draw, with two judges scoring it even.
A rematch between KSI and Logan Paul was the pair's first professional bout, fighting without head guards. The Brit defeated Paul via split decision, with two judges scoring in favor of KSI.
After fighting Paul and taking a break from boxing to focus on music, KSI partnered with Wasserman Promotions in June 2021 to launch a boxing promotional company called 'Misfits Boxing,' with the first event being in August 2022.
The first show hosted by Misfits Boxing was billed as 'two fights one night' as KSI took on British rapper 'Swarmz' and Mexican professional boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda.
KSI defeated Swarmz by knockout in the second round and then beat Pineda via third-round knockout, winning and retaining the MF Cruiserweight title on the same night.
In November 2022, it was announced that KSI would fight MMA star Dillon Danis, but Danis withdrew due to a lack of preparation and issues with contracted weight.
Instead, KSI fought Thomas Oliveira (Faze Temperrr) on the 14th of January 2023, dismantling him in the first round via knockout.
