The tragic death of Erica Ash, 'Scary Movie' actress and comedian, 46

Few people knew about her illness because, despite the severity, Erica Ash continued working as long as she could. However, at age 46, the star of 'Scary Movie' succumbed to cancer.

Her friend, Loni Love, confirmed the tough news through a heartfelt message on Instagram.

"I am sad to confirm my friend and fellow actress Erica Ash has passed… Erica was talented and hilarious, whether it was the show Survivor’s Remorse or Madtv, she would put her all into her work. She would always just be there. Now she’s gone. My sincere condolences to her family and fans" says the comedian and actress.

Diann Ash, Erica Ash's mother, corroborated the hard news to TMZ. She explained her daughter had terminal cancer.

"We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend Erica Chantal Ash (1977-2024). After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loved ones," Diann Ash commented to TMZ.

In addition, they have asked Erica Ash's fans to donate money to a foundation for research on bre4st cancer rather than sending it to them.

Erica Ash had become a regular face on the North American comedy scene. She began with Rosie O'Donnell and her 'The Big Gay Sketch Show'.

For two years, the comedian participated in 15 episodes of the program, where she shared moments with people like Kate McKinnon and Colman Domingo (in the photo).

On 'MadTV', her talent stood out thanks to her glorious imitations of celebrities like Michelle Obama, Naomi Campbell, and Whoopi Goldberg. It was hypnotic.
