Friends, 25 years later

We knew something was up when the cast of 'Friends' met again in October 2019. Back then, Jennifer Anniston uploaded this selfie to her Instagram account and captioned it: "And now we're Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM." One-and-a- half year later, we'd have a new episode of 'Friends' to watch.

Dawson's Creek (1998-2003)

The path to maturity for a group of girls and boys begun in high school and continued throughout their young years. Dawson's Creek was a successful and very 'American Way of Life' series.

Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990-2000)

The actor Luke Perry, who played the young and rebellious Dylan McKay, died in March 2019. Months later, in August, a reboot of this legendary series arrived, including a beautiful reminder to Luke that made many people cry.

In 2016, Netflix launched a sequel to 'Gilmore Girls' in the form of a mini-series. This was called 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.'

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air (1990-1996)

'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air' is the series that catapulted Will Smith into fame. Some unique moments were created, earning their spot in television history, such as the extraordinary dance moves of Carlton Banks.

Influence on a whole generation

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air was comedy that marked an entire generation. It addressed social issues of racism and class. Still, most people today don't know it anymore. But as you can see in the picture, the actors did not forget about their close friendship.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003)

Sarah Michelle Gellar is known worldwide for her role as Buffy Summers, the empowered woman who fights supernatural evils in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.'

Reboot?

In 2018 the producer Monica Owusu-Breen tweeted that there might be a possible new series following the theme of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' But that's all we know for now.

Xena, Warrior Princess (1995-2001)

A series set in Ancient Greece that triumphed in the 1990s. 'Xena: Warrior Princess' launched a feminist message through its main character. Xena was a serious competitor for Hercules.

Reboot cancelled

In 2015, there were plans of a reunion for this series. The reboot was cancelled, however. NBC's Jennifer Salker said in Hollywood Reporter that she "would never say never" to a revival, but that "the current incarnation of the remake is dead."

Saved by the Bell (1989-1993)

This series is a source for 30-somethings' nostalgia. Many actors of 'Saved by the Bell' have become well-known stars, for example Mario Lopez and Tiffani Thiessen.

Revival of the series

Hollywood Reporter has indicated that there will be a revival of 'Saved by the Bell' with actors from the original series, such as Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley. Unfortunately, Screech won't be there because Dustin Diamond passed away from cancer at a young age.

Seinfeld (1989-1998)

This famous sitcom by comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David was intended to have "no hugs or learning." The typical nihilist and dry humour of Seinfeld marked the 1990s.

A return of Seinfeld?

There's hope for fans of the show. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Jerry Seinfeld said that it was possible for 'Seinfeld' to return with a revival.

Full House (1987-1995)

'Full House' tells the story of Danny Tanner, a widowed father who has to take care of his three daughters. He does this with his friend Joey and his brother-in-law Jesse.

Full House reunion

Netflix launched a reboot of the series in 2016 with the original actors, titled 'Fuller House.' Although it looked like the series would come to an end, Netflix announced in 2019 that it would get a fifth season.

Blossom (1991-1995)

This series was a worldwide success with Mayim Bialik as Blossom Russo, a teenager who lives with her father, her brothers and a musician.

Two decades later

The cast of 'Blossom' reunited 22 years later. Blossom fans continue to wonder if there could be a remake. Actor Joey Lawrence says that "there have been some serious conversations about it, believe it or not."

Ugly Betty (1999-2001)

'Ugly Betty' is a Colombian soap opera about a girl who does not meet the standards of beauty. The series was so successful that it had remakes in more than ten versions, from Spanish to English-American, and German. Many girls identified with 'outsider' Betty.

In 2016, the actress Natalia Ramirez (who played Marcela Valencia) published this photo on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Boy Meets World (1993-2000)

'Boy Meets World' was an ABC sitcom starring Ben Savage in the role of Cory Matthews. Many boys and girls passed through adolescence together with the actors of this series.

Male reunion of 'Boy meets world'

Years later, two of the protagonists, now adults, reunited. While they were riding the train, 'Girl Meets World'  (2014-2017) was made, the sequel to 'Boy Meets World'. It starred Riley Matthews, a role by Rowan Blanchard, Cory's daughter.

Lizzie McGuire (2001-2004)

This legendary Disney Channel series recounted the life of young Lizzie: her adventures, friendships and quirks. Lizzie McGuire was someone many girls identified with as a child.

Remake with the original actors

In August 2019, Disney+ announced a reboot of the series with the original cast. Here you can see how the years have passed for the actors.
