All about Lauren Sánchez, the life partner of Jeff Bezos
After separating from Mackenzie Scott in a billion-dollar divorce, Jeff Bezos is moving on with his life. He seems to be getting more and more serious with his girlfriend Lauren Sánchez: apparently, there are wedding bells in the air. Who is the Amazon founder's other half?
Of Mexican descent, Lauren Sánchez was born in 1969 into a humble family in Albuquerque. She told Hollywood Reporter in 2017 that she "came from nothing" and that she "used to sleep in the back of my grandmother's car when she would go clean houses."
After finishing high school, Lauren Sánchez went to California to study Journalism and soon began working as a reporter for channels in Los Angeles and Phoenix. It was the move to Fox that cemented her place in the industry.
Lauren Sánchez is dyslexic, but she didn't discover this until she was an adult. With hindsight, she understands the difficulties that she'd had in school as a child. "They call them learning differences now, which is really sweet, but growing up I just thought I was stupid," Sánchez told Hollywood Reporter.
On television, Sánchez covered sports topics for Fox, won an Emmy (1999) on her return to channel 13 in Los Angeles, where she presented a news programme ('Good Day LA') and hosted the talent show 'So You Think You Can Dance' for a season. She became a celebrity and began rubbing shoulders with sports, film, and television stars.
Lauren Sánchez is also, in a way, an emblem of the Hispanic community in the United States. With Channel 13, she became the first Hispanic woman to host a news program.
Lauren Sánchez's father was an aeronautical mechanic and she decided to learn to fly helicopters herself. But not only that: she founded Black Ops Aviation, a company specializing in aerial filming (she contributed to the visual splendour of 'Dunkirk', Christopher Nolan's war masterpiece). So, Bezos' partner also has an entrepreneurial side, just like the richest man in the world.
Lauren Sánchez was a partner of Tony González, an NFL player with whom she had her son Nikko in 2001. She later had a relationship with Patrick Whitesell, a powerful celebrity agent (in the image) whom she married in 2005. Their marriage produced a son and a daughter: Evan and Ellen. It all ended in 2019 when Jeff Bezos entered the scene.
Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos were neighbours in the posh Seattle neighbourhood where they lived. They even hosted dinners with their respective partners, and from there, love arose. Speculation abounds over whether the relationship was consummated before or after Bezos’ divorce, but only he and Lauren Sánchez know for sure.
The couple moved from rainy Seattle to a mansion in Beverly Hills valued at 160 million euros (185 million USD). It originally belonged to the famous founder of Warner Bros, Jack Warner.

In his new life with Lauren Sánchez, Jeff Bezos has not hesitated to show how happy he is. Whether he's travelling or at social events, the planet's richest man often shares bits of his private life.
The relationship between Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez seems to be developing nicely between work, parties and social events with characters like Anna Wintour, the absolute icon of 'Vogue'.
Lauren Sánchez has a brother, Michael, and a sister, Elena. Michael Sánchez is known to speak too freely with the press, and it was from his loose lips that rumours of a wedding between Lauren and Jeff emerged.
Despite her humble beginnings, Lauren Sánchez has been a celebrity for a long time, and she enjoys paying attention (as you can see in the image) to news about other celebrities.
As famous as she is, Lauren Sánchez has made various cameos or brief roles in some series: 'Babylon 5', 'The Agency', 'Gotham Tonight', and 'NCIS,' for example.
Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos are now part of Californian high society. Under the bright California sun, they may decide to get married. Or maybe not. We will see.
